The Bethel Foundation In Bielefeld
Postage stamps are sent to Bethel by various church communities, schools, businesses and individuals and we at Church of the Ascension are part of this.
The Bethel Foundation is a church charity organization associated with the Evangelical Church of Westphalia and is dedicated to the care of people with disabilities, the sick and the elderly.
Every year the postage stamp department, which employs 125 people, receives 137 million stamps. People with disabilities find employment there, carefully cutting out the stamps and sorting them into different categories. Most of the postage stamps are sold to collectors.
